I read the book effective software architectures. Chapter 10 concerns SOA (service oriented architecture). I have read much about and made me my opinion.
There is a table that describes what is SOA from the perspective of various stakeholders in the book. A view is me the strategy consultant and software maker very sympathetic.
SOA is...
An unclear defined hype issue that sounds promising in the ears of our customers.
A gigantic consulting and tool market full of opportunities and risks.
This simply just involves services that any like (XML, SOAP, RPC, etc.) are made available, are independent and used by a consumer.
So, old wine in new bottles.
I zapfe 3 (Web) services and do something in my application. Old technology with new term (SOA). That is my understanding.
And you?
