As an ADSL customer you have usually a dynamic IP. In other words, times when the connection is lost you get each new IP. There are also providers know a forced separation. I never had this experience.
Recently a dynamic IP and disadvantages. I see it actually only advantages. On a single point.
My Web host offers me the possibility of using the SQL Server Management Studio to SQL Server access. However, he has to enter my IP in the firewall for this. I can bring the Nice supporter of course almost to despair. Repeatedly entering the new IP. This can be the solution. A DNS he can not enter unfortunately name. The Cisco unfortunately do not support that. DynDNS is so out of the question.
What is because solutions are known to me.
- Fixed IP at my provider
For me, is not a solution. The dynamic IP has its advantages. Especially when one thinks of the data. You must make it not too easy. :-)
Also, additional 10CHF (6.75Euro) will become due within a month. For a static IP? No, too expensive. - VPN in the company
I reported my host IP of my employer. I joined me via VPN to the corporate network and went to the SQL Server. That worked very well. Until there were some changes to the firewall. Now that is no longer. Obviously, the port has been blocked. As admin I would share also the. Open a port for private purposes? No, I wouldn't. So I ask not. - Gate
Tor is an anonymity service. Since we installed a client connecting servers with gate. Any where you then goes to the Internet. This means that the own IP is never in the logs. The point where you go on the Internet, is always the same thing can so much I know target be set. I could configure so goal I am always with the same server on the Internet. This IP could then enter my hoster. But how stable is Tor? Available the server as well? So the solution is not really ideal.
I have now 3 ideas, but is not optimal.
Who know another solution?
Maybe there Yes any where a VPN server to which you can connect?
