Does this work? Internet Explorer from version 4 and the FF from version 1 on the same PC? Work?

That would be so ideal for the test.

It is. For example 5 various IE versions.

The better it looks ever new IE. :-)

In the FF is also. Unfortunately, you can start because only one instance at a time.

FF 3.0.3

I would say there have of the FF a lot done better than MS. Even the version 1 correctly displays my blog. It cannot be said that IE.

And how to do it now?

The IE's with: http://browsers.evolt.org/?ie/32bit/standalone

FF's with: http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable (a little later come then the older versions.) ("Legacy versions")

I find cool. : D

There are certainly other browsers they can run standalone. But enough me.
