Oh dear, that now has been a struggle. On a SharePoint Server installation
the DataSheet is used very extensively. There is an application
that depends on the widget.
The thing was broken since about two weeks.
Learn I have first yesterday. Is clear. A day
before making the payments. According to
was the pressure.
Whenever you wanted to open the "Edit in Datasheet"
got the following error message.
The list is displayed in standard view.
It cannot be displayed in
Datasheet view for one or more of the following reasons: A datasheet
component is not compatible with Windows SharePoint Services
installed, your browser does not support ActiveX controls, or support
for ActiveX controls is disabled.
What have I try everything.
- Anything in IE7 and IE6.
Permissions down, ActiveX full throttle,
Java permissions full throttle- Reinstalled Office 2003 Pro update
- Tried various client's
- Private no GPO's that could restrict something try so.
- All GPO's disabled and looked for the client to load any GPO's more.
Nothing helped. There were no help in the forums. Sometime I saw that
a few days ago the SP3 the SharePoint Services is installed.
Because there was a backup from the server, I wanted to uninstall it just once.
Oops, easier said than done.
I found this note in the description of the SP3. (click for larger)
Well, now everything was clear.
The Nice colleague had still a Fullsave in January.
So we brought the SQL DB in security and provided health
January restore. Then back, and behold, again the SQL DB
that DataSheet doing again. Shit SP3...
